Original (plain) text is adapted from the research and writings of Center Church Historian Emertius Deb Townshend, compiled from the Ancient Records Series in the Library of New Haven Colony Historical Society and originally published by the church in 2001.

Corrections, additions, and all background narrative written by site author and current Church Historian M.R. Georgevich — found through more recent research — appear in italics; all works cited in new text can be found here.  Please use the contact form below for permission to reproduce/proper attribution for photos and text.

Don’t see an entry for your Puritan of interest yet?  Use the contact form below, and I’ll put your stone at the front of the queue.  You can also request print-resolution sized images for personal or non-profit use.

Do you have any stories or historical background we may have missed, about the people or the stones themselves?  We’d be delighted to hear from you!  Contact us ASAP, with citations, if possible.

Public tours of the crypt are available April-October, on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm (or by special appointment).
