The wife of Enos Alling, daughter of the Hon. Joseph and Hannah (Trowbridge) Whiting, and sister of Mary, Hannah, and John. Her husband Enos became a freeman in 1743, and later a grand juryman, collector of taxes, a lister, surveyor of highways, and a member of a committee to consider building a workhouse (a correction house for persons guilty of minor law infractions).
After Phebe died, Enos went on to marry Hannah Miles. Enos was a member of the Connecticut state legislature in 1764 and also served in leadership positions at the neighboring Trinity Episcopal Church, where he was nicknamed “Bishop Alling.” He is buried at Grove Street Cemetery.
